About Us
Welcome to Afifah School. Since our humble beginnings in 2001, it has been our aim to provide a safe environment to nurture and empower pupils to become responsible citizens who not only take responsibility for their personal, social and spiritual development, but also actively contribute to the community they live in. This is achieved by placing our faith at the core of everything we do. Our motto “Path to Progress and Piety” encapsulates this.
Islam attaches great importance to seeking knowledge and thereafter acting upon it. Numerous Quranic verses, Ahaadeeth (prophetic narrations) and incidents from the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW demonstrate the significance of education and the virtues of pursuing knowledge.
We offer an ambitious curriculum and supplement this with enrichment and extra-curricular activities. Students’ progress is regularly monitored through robust assessments. We have high expectations from students regarding attendance, behaviour, presentation, effort and attitude. Small class sizes allow teachers to give each child a personalised education.
Our academic outcomes are consistently better than the national average. We provide a supportive pastoral system that encourages character development. Prayers are scheduled within our daily schedules, Quran and Islamic Studies are given appropriate weight within our curriculum and every opportunity is taken to educate our young children to implement Islamic etiquettes in to their lives. The above factors should prepare our students to succeed in this life and the Hereafter.
I strongly believe that we have a good record of preparing our students for the next milestone of their life. Afifah prides itself on producing confident and competent individuals who have a strong sense of their Islamic identity. I consider myself to be privileged to lead a very special all-through Islamic school, as there are so many challenges and opportunities we encounter (and overcome) on a daily basis. The fact that the number of students and staff have multiplied five-fold over the last decade, whilst maintaining the quality of education, demonstrates the progress we have made.
