Afifah Preschool is where children begin their journey and experience and join our school family. We are part of the well-known Afifah School. Afifah Preschool is a Muslim ethos Nursery following the Early Years Framework covering seven areas of learning. Here at Afifah Preschool we are dedicated to providing a child centred learning environment which is underpinned by the spiritual well-being; focusing on children’s interests as well as the environment that surrounds them.

Our staff are trained individuals that are experts in catering to the individual needs, talents and abilities of each child with a passion for Islamic education. We believe that Early Years development is the most important development of a child’s life which is why learning through play in a loving and encouraging environment is most important to us. We like to help children develop their self-confident and understanding of their needs, who they are and how to become compassionate and responsible members of the society in the making.

Parents are valued as first educators and we make every effort to inform them of the EYFS curriculum whilst providing them with the tools to continue learning at home.

The Afifah Preschool curriculum is designed to develop the characteristics of effective learnings:

• Creating and thinking critically – children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.
• Active learning – children keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy their achievements.
• Playing and exploring – children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’.

We are a term time Pre-School and have choices of a morning sessions (8:40-11:40am), afternoon sessions (12:00-3:00pm) and full day (8:40-3:00). Full day children have lunch at 11:30-12:00.

Our day consists of continuous provision which helps build children’s self confidence in making choices. We set various different activities for children to enjoy and explore and are based on children’s choices. Throughout the day our Pre-Schoolers learn the basics of Islam for example we have Salah time and Quran time daily as well as teaching them Surah’s and Duas with the Quran Teacher.

Our Team consists of fully qualified Practitioners.
