National Storytelling Week Podcast Webinar

As part of the January National Storytelling week, on the 3rd February 2023, our students will be taking part in the “Youre Dead to Me” podcast webinar held by Greg Jenner. Greg is the host of the smash hit BBC podcast series ‘You’re Dead To Me’, which pairs up top comedians with top historians to deliver funny, fascinating explorations of the most interesting, surprising, and overlooked subjects from global history.

 

Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday 7th February, our students will be taking part in Safer Internet Day.

Starting as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and taken up by the Insafe network as one of its earliest actions in 2005, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in approximately 180 countries and territories worldwide.”

Students will learn about keeping safe on the internet, social media use and emerging issues online.

 

Mental Health Week

De-Stressing to Progress!

On the week of the 6th February, our students will be taking part in Mental Health Week. Students will have calming sessions, understand how to improve their mental health, take fresh air walks and even have their very own pamper day!

 

 

 

GCSE Parents Evening

We understand that GCSEs are a stressful time for our Year 10 and 11 students and parents. To ensure that all of us are ease with the way examinations work, parents can attend our GCSE Parents Evening on Wednesday 8th February 2pm-3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

 

Maths Challenge

“The UK Mathematics Trust was founded in 1996 and our charitable aim is to advance the education of young people in mathematics. We do this by working with hundreds of volunteers across the UK to organize competitions promoting problem solving and team work and other mathematical enrichment activities. Our biggest competitions are the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Mathematical Challenges, which have over 700 000 entries each year, and are the UK’s most popular school Mathematical Challenges…” – UKMT

Gaza Winter Walk

On the 11th February 2023, to support Muslim Hands Charity our High school students will be taking part in the 15th Annual Gaza Winter Walk in Heaton Park.

Science Week

As March approaches, our young scientists are getting ready for science week. Our students will have the opportunity to speak to scientists and researchers, conduct their own experiments and think about future careers in the science field.
